A Threat

An unlawful act of violence which
becomes the threat to whole mankind,
The evil curse, terrorism
has mushroomed all across the world.
Terrorists use violent ways to
achieve purpose by  hook or crook.
Youth, old,  women and kids
happen to become their easy prey.
No rules or laws they do bother and
for nothing they have a compromise.

When they start their wicked play
Streets marked with blood stains
as bodies do lay still here and there
Like an evil chill an eerie silence
engulfs air and cries of innocents get
reverberated in the height of the sky
Fear of panic  spread all around and
Uncertainty in mobs asudden
causes total unrest everywhere.

To put an end for this game
No matter what religion we follow,
all of us should stand against it.
Hand in hand we should practise
Unity in diversity.
Education is the prime solution
to make awareness in people.
Knowing oneself is vital
So no one becomes their victims.
We, the world, if become one
None can knock us down as brazen.

An efficacious connection between the violent acts of terrorism and the world's antidote is definitively spelled out in this vividly portrayed poem by Mallika Menon entitled "A Threat." She writes emphatically, "We, the world, if become one none can knock us down as brazen." Thank You, Mallika!
