Hi,  April is here! With most exams over, a smile of relief would have replaced the wrinkles of anxiety on parents' faces. Our Summer Workshop for kids kicks in on 2nd of April and goes up to 22nd May. While most workshops are already full, there are a few seats available for the Neeraj Kabi theatre workshop (kids between 13 and 16). He is truly top-class and one of the most popular in Mumbai for Prithvi Theatre's summer workshops. Rush to Ranga Shankara to register if you haven't done so already. April turns out to be a month of premieres. Veenapani Chawla and her Adishakti (from Pondicherry) come down for the Bangalore premiere of their new production titled The Hare and The Tortoise. Those of us who have seen her Ganapati (during our Fest '04), Brihhannala, etc. know that the tickets will disappear before one can say "The Hare and The..."! Aneka, the young and energetic troupe run by Suresh Anagalli is celebrating a festival of their plays ? while Nenapaadalu Shakuntale and Maduve Hennu are their popular plays, Mr. BBS Cultured Aadaddu is premiering in this Aneka Fest. Some feast of Kannada plays this will be! S Surendranath comes back with a new production too. His Sanket troupe follows its super-duper hit Neenaanaadrenaaneenena with Sankramana which is adapted by the director himself. Anmol Vellani directs Exit the King for Toto Funds the Arts that will premiere in April. Anju Sudarshan at the Café ¨as concocted Barley Marsh Melon to add to her already popular repertoire of Summer Coolers ? Kokum juice, buttermilk, and lemonade.
