Excellent project. Thank you for the chance to assemble a controller. Can SLC Free A be  adapted to LSU4.2 ?

Hi Alexandr,

Alan hasn't released any source code for a version of the SLC Free for the 4.2 sensors, but you could modify the code if you wanted

You would need to at least

- Adjust the target resistance of the Nernst cell from 300 Ohm to 80 Ohm (Ri_Delta_Target)
- Modify the resistance to temperature lookup table to suit the 4.2 sensor (Or maybe just the offset, I think the curve can be kept)
- Modify the pump current to lambda lookup table to suit the 4.2 sensor
- Some PID tuning will most likely be required to ensure a stable output.

As far as I can tell these are the only changes required. The heat up rate of the 4.9 sensor should also work for the 4.2.

I plan to do this myself at some point, but for the moment I do not have any way to ensure the final calibration is correct.

Hello!

I am a total noob. So far I have a completed working SLC Free A.

I have found out (the hard way) that I can only purchase the LSU 4.2 (LS 7049) and not the LSU 4.9 (LS 44026) in my country. :(

So any updates on this? Or should I just "try" go with the above?

My recommendation would be to get a 4.9 sensor. You can order one from 14point7 at http://www.14point7.com/products/bosch-lsu-4-9

You will not be able to use the SLC Free A with a 4.2 sensor without modifying the code.

In order to reprogram the chip you would need to buy a Cypress programmer.

I have not done any work to modify for the 4.2, but if you really want to go down that path I will give you some help.
