Spartan3 w/CAN serial coms

I received my Spartan3 yesterday and got it all setup and working.  I tried to connect to the module and send in some serial commands to check functionality.  I'd send in a GETTYPE command and would not get a response back from the unit.  I tried some of the other GETxx commands I would never get a response.  I did send in the SETCANR0 command to disable the internal resistor but I have no way to determine if it actually worked or not.   

All this was tried with the unit connected with power and all ground hook up to stay out of bootloader mode.

I sorted the serial coms..  needed to add a LF command at the end of each serial string for it to work correctly.  I was able to shut off the CAN bus resistor.
