1. Remove Sensor from exhaust
2. Connect the sensor to the wideband controller and power on the wideband controller
3. Wait about 2 minutes, the sensor should get hot (be careful), please confirm it gets hot
4. With a cigarette lighter, give the tip of the sensor some gas, do not light the gas. With enough gas, the wideband controller should output max rich (~10AFR),
My two brand new units (bought the pair in Sept. 2017 but just now installing the first) units both pass self test but fail the gas test. I tied Bic Lighter, MAP torch and Oxy/Acetylene torch.. all stayed at 4.95v (20:1).
I called and spoke with Alan @ 14point7. He is sending out a pair of replacement sensors & controllers, so we shall see when they arrive. I'll test both sets with lighter gas and hopefully they work without issue. I would suggest you give him a call, perhaps you are seeing the same issue I have?
