NUS Bizad Charity Run 2014

 

The NUS Business School Alumni Association (NUSBSA) is into the 4th year involving the NUS Bizad community in doing charity for the disadvantaged in our society. Other than raising two bursaries for financially needy undergraduates from the NUS Business School, the selected beneficiaries for this year will be Camp Vision, Casa Raudha Women Home and CARE (Children-At-Risk-Empowerment Association.) Camp Vision is a volunteer driven movement, made up of volunteers who share a common vision to contribute by leveraging their skills collectively to provide the opportunity for youths at risk from different backgrounds to get connected, be empowered to live their dreams, and be leaders of their lives. Casa Raudha Women Home provides shelter and care for the abused and homeless women and to empower them to be confident and self-reliant. Children-At-Risk Empowerment Association (CARE Singapore) has been providing school-based social work services, reaching out to primary and secondary youths at risk of academic failure, behaviour problems, emotional maladjustment, self-harm or delinquency.

 

The Bizad Charity Run 2014 will take place on 11 January 2014 morning from 7 am at the NUS campus ground. The event aims to attract over 1,000 participants consisting of students, academic staff and alumni from the NUS Business School, together with their friends and relatives. The Bizad Charity Run 2014 comprises a 5 km fun & leisure run for family and children ; and a 10 km competitive category around the NUS Campus traversing the NUS Business School and U Town. At the end of the run, family brunch boxes will be provided and all are encouraged to stay back for a mass picnic together with our loved ones. Light entertainment and games will also be provided.

 

As the event is rather large scale, a large amount of manpower will be required and you are invited to participate in this meaningful event as volunteers.
