Dear Year 5 CCE Reps,

 

Here are two flag days that I would like to trouble you to inform your classmates about, thanks for your help!

 

1.       Yong En and MCYC Joint Flag Day 2013

 

MCYC Community Services Society & Yong-En Care Centre will be organising a joint flag day on 22nd June (Saturday), from 9.00am to 7.00pm. They would like to invite students to volunteer with them to collect donations from the general public on that day. Their target is to deploy about 1,200 volunteers on the streets to help collect at least $60,000 for this fund raising effort. The event will be from 9.00am – 7.00pm on 22 June 2013, but volunteers are required to commit a minimum 4-hour time slot on that day. Some details are as below:

 

Date: 22^nd June 2013 (Saturday)

 

Slots: Shift 1:  9am – 1pm     Shift 2:  11am – 3pm   Shift 3:  1pm – 5pm     Shift 4:  3pm – 7pm

 

Reporting venue:

The Fairfield Methodist Church, 1 Tanjong Pagar Road (opp Maxwell Food Centre), to report at least 30 mins before the shift signed up, for briefing and instructions.

 

Please note that while MCYC and Yong-en Care Centre will be awarding bonus CIP hours if certain conditions are met, the school will only credit and endorse the CIP hours for the ACTUAL SERVICE.

2.       Children's Society Flag Day 2013

 

The Singapore Children's Society will be organizing their flag day on 3 August, Saturday to raise funds to meet their operational costs from reaching out to needy children, youth and their families via their social service programmes. Details are as follows:

 

Date: 3 August 2013 (Saturday)

 

Slots: Either 9am to 2.30pm or 12.30pm to 6pm  

 

Reporting venue: Jalan Besar Communty Centre- Multi-Purpose Hall

69 Jellicoe Road 208737 (5 minutes walk from Lavender MRT)
