Subject: Conference opportunity

Dear Year 5 CCE reps,

 

The attached document contains some information on the Harmonyworks Youth Conference which is an opportunity for students to discuss inter-racial and inter-religious issues in Singapore with politicians, academics and community leaders.

 

The conference will be held on 27th July from 9am to 4.30pm. If you and your classmates are interested to attend this, please reply to me by 6th July 2013. There are 20 places available for Y5 students.

Raffles Institution and ITE College West will be organising a service learning trip to Tra Vinh Province, Vietnam from 2^nd to 9^th December 2013. The objective of this collaboration is to encourage empathy and an appreciation of diversity through service. This service-learning trip is open to Y5 students and those who apply must be prepared to fully commit to the pre and post trip phases of this programme in addition to the trip itself. This will involve one combined meeting with participants from ITE College West prior to the trip, and one combined post-trip evaluation and reflection session in January of 2014. Preparation for the project may also be necessary in the weeks leading up to the trip and this is likely to commence after the completion of your Project Work examinations. Please fill in and submit your application form at the following link by 23^rd August 2013 if you are interested in participating in this trip.
