hello there 12 Seeders

It's coming up to 20 years since we 12 Seeders met in India. I was wondering where you all are? Are you still using this email? How about we all say hello again?

I am living in Zimbabwe now. Was reminded about our group by the memory of those who joined the course from the African Biodiversity Network. I believe you were working with Mupo Foundation back then Mpho?  I am working with organisations across Africa, through the African Earth Jurisprudence Collective. 

And personally I am involved in setting up a Seed Library here in Harare, with the hope to get people growing more organic heritage seeds in their urban gardens (yes, Hedvig!!). 

So seeds are still very much part of my life. Are they part of yours? Would love to hear!

It's lovely to hear from you!

I'm working as an academic in Aotearoa New Zealand, still working on topics related to agriculture and food. I ended up focusing my MSc and PhD on the aftermath of the Fukushima Daiichi disaster, particularly its impacts on food and eating. I have also worked as a critical social scientist on a project collaboratively designing AI-driven agritech here in Aotearoa New Zealand. So basically I work at the intersection of science, technology, food and agriculture, trying to contribute to/advocate for more social and environmental justice. 

I wish I could spend more time outside in gardens and farms. Your email reminded me of the importance of making more space in my life for that. There is a great little organic farm in Auckland city that I could probably volunteer on. And I did happily find a community compost center in the city center recently!

I look forward to hearing from others. And thanks, Sara, for restarting the conversation. I can't believe it's been almost 20 years!!!
