The group said on Friday it also wanted to discuss an apparent rise in
hate speech and racism, and the future of the interfaith movement's
relationship with the State.
The NRLF was set up 15 years ago at the request of former president
Nelson Mandela.
In Friday's statement, it described itself as "the most powerful,
representative and the only legitimate interfaith body in the country"
