Minutes of the OBA Core Committee Meeting

Held on 5th December, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. in the School Board Room

Members present:

         Mr. Arun Mammen, Mr. Manohar, Mr. Sukumar Samuel, Mr. Madhavan, Mr. Suji George, Mr. Vijayakumar, Mr. Chithranath, Mr. Siddharth Jairaj, Mr. Siva, Mr. Udhay Nayar, Mr. Raghuram, Mr. Sayeed Cassim, Mr. Kasi and Mr. Suresh Kumar.

Staffs present:

                Mr. Chendhilvel, Mr. Balasing Devadoss, Mrs. Christiana and Mrs. Gracia

The proceedings that took place:

The headmaster Mr. Manohar commenced the meeting with a word of prayer. Mr. Arun Mammen spearheaded the meeting.

The program schedule for the OBA Reunion was discussed and decided that:

  • Opening prayer – Mr. Sukumar Samuel (1967 Batch)
  • School song by School Choir
  • 1 minute silence for demised teachers and students (Teachers photo will be displayed on the screen)
  • Welcome address – Mr. Raghu
  • OBA Report – Mr. Arun Mammen
  • PPT on school report (Including the construction of the auditorium)
  • Speaker for the 1967 Batch(Golden Jubilee Batch) – Mr. Alagiri / Mr. Ananthapadmanabhan
  • Scholarships to be given (all the 30 children will be made to stand on the stage together due to time constrain)
  • PPT by the 1992 Batch (Silver Jubilee Batch)
  • Felicitation to the Headmaster by Mr. Wilfred Davidar
  • Felicitation to the Headmaster by Mr. M. Loganathan
  • Acceptance by Headmaster, Mr. Manohar
  • Vote of thanks by Mr. Chithranath

Cricket Match: As there are about ten teams who have already registered, slight changes were made.

The time was rescheduled from 2 p.m. to 1 p.m. Overs were reduced from 7 to 5.

The teams are grouped into:

  • Before 1990
  • 1990 – 2005
  • After 2005

The winning team from the first two groups will get the cup with our School logo on it and T-Shirts for the third group.

To invite all the V.I.P’s who are past students of our school and ask them to inform us in advance, so that we can make the necessary arrangements. Invitation letter to be sent to them in the School letter head.

This year there will be no tree planting.

Information regarding the lucky draw and the registration fees to be posted on FB@.

Contents for advertising to be given to:

  • Times of India – Mr. Suresh Kumar
  • The Hindu – Mr. Ramesh
  • Malayalam Manorama – Mr. John George

Mr. Suresh Kumar suggested, that the commencement of the CBSE School to be mentioned in the school report.

Wheat Halwa and Sundal/Groundnut will be provided for snacks.

Scholarships:

The minimum amount to be raised to Rs. 2,00,000/-. To reach a larger audience, to help increase the number of contributors. Write to the existing contributors to top up the scholarship amount.

Mr. Suresh Kumar appreciated the Headmaster, Mr. Manohar for all that he has achieved in his tenure.
