just scouted out the site. Trash spread all over at the gate.....TONS of bear scat, so that's the culprit. Spoke to a ranger named john. They are overwhelmed with the new fires and the chopper crash that killed 8 firefighters on tuesday. He agreed to let me in early so I could clean up the mess. He is providing me with bags and gloves, so i'm heading to the ranger station shortly to pick the stuff up, and go clean up.

He said beaver sulphur is next on the list for a bear trap, and to use careful food storage and to be bear-aware. I promised to sleep with the trash to protect it overnight. Someone named amy will be by tomorrow morning to pick it up. He gave me his government cel #......our site is free next year :-)

forgot about the fire thing.....will check at the ranger station......
