| (Waukegan, IL) The Grayslake woman accused of hitting and killing a Round Lake Beach teen, has had her sentencing delayed. During court this week on Thursday, Desiree Britt was set to be sentenced for breaking the terms of her probation stemming from a previous conviction, Britt had completed just a fraction of her public service hours and didn't pay her full court costs from another 2005 case but new testimony delayed that ruling Thursday. Prosecutor Suzanne Willett stated that Britt had marijuana in her system and her 2 year old daughter in the car at the time of the accident and recommended the maximum of 365 days in the Lake County Jail The 22-year-old was charged with a DUI, child endangerment and possession of paraphernalia in the death of Alonzo De La Torre in January.The judge in the case said he will make his sentencing decision TUESDAY 08/12/08 at 10am in Lake County Court House, Waukegan,IL . |
