Hi, Problem 1 uses the notation

|| f ||_\infty

Is this shorthand for

|| f ||_{ L_\infty (P) }

?

The latter is the notation used in the covering numbers section of the Concentration of Measure chapter / lecture notes.

|| f ||_\infty = \sup \{ | f(x) | \}

It is the supremum norm. The statement in the questions says that the
class of functions contains only bounded functions.
