Magnetic Closer or Clips for Shoes and Boots Out in the Desert to Avoid Scorpions

If you live in Australia or the desert, there is always the fear for scorpions making their homes in your boots or shoes.  Why not make giant clips like the jawed clips used to seal off chips, which can seal off the boots or shoes when not in use.  Alternatively you could make a stretchable magnetic tape which attaches to the shoes/boots and seals them off.
