Hi!
I am a 2nd year CSD PhD student and I'm working on matrix/tensor decompositions for a variety of purposes (including anomaly detection, prediction etc).
Borrowing an idea from the 'Resources' page of the course website, where one of the suggested problems is to improve movie recommendation on Netflix using side information from sources like IMDB or Wikipedia, I thought about following a "data-fusion" approach e.g. jointly decomposing the Neftflix and the IMDB data matrix into a common latent representation, and then using that representation for user rating prediction.
