Hi,

I don't know if someone has asked this. But I have no idea what a "closed form solution" means for 2.3. Is the solution for 2.1.3 and 2.2.4 closed form?

Thanks,

Zhuo

You should take closed form to be mean that you can write out the solution to the optimization problem as a mathematical expression, i.e. w = A*X+p. So, if one has a solution, but not in closed form, one would have an algorithm to solve for the solution numerically, but have no such mathematical expression.
