Job Description: Business Systems Analyst – Enterprise Payments (Gift Cards & Credit Cards)
Location: Seattle, WA (Onsite)
Duration: 1-Year Contract
Role Overview
We are seeking a senior Payments Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to drive our retail and digital commerce payment initiatives, with a heavy emphasis on Credit Card processing and Gift Card (Stored Value) platform integration. You will act as the technical bridge between Product, Engineering, QA, and external payment vendors to design, document, and implement secure, high-throughput payment flows.
Key Responsibilities

Requirements & Data Mapping: Elicit and translate business needs into technical requirements, user stories, API mappings, and end-to-end payment transaction flows.

Credit Card Processing: Manage integrations across the full credit card lifecycle including authorization, settlement, clearing, refunds, and chargebacks with gateways and major processors.

Gift Card Platforms: Oversee closed-loop or open-loop Gift Card ledger integrations (e.g., Blackhawk, InComm, Givex), including partial authorizations, balance inquiries, and split-tender logic.

POS & Digital Integration: Support hardware-to-software integrations for Point of Sale (POS) and PIN Entry Devices (PED), ensuring seamless EMV and contactless transaction flows.

Testing & Compliance: Partner with QA/UAT teams on complex test cases (reversals, declines, edge cases) and ensure all solutions align strictly with PCI-DSS compliance.
Required Experience & Skills

5+ years of experience as a BSA/BA within Payments, Retail, or Digital Commerce.

Core Payments Mastery: Direct, hands-on experience handling Credit Card processing and/or Gift Card ledger integrations.

Technical Literacy: Proven ability to read and map APIs, JSON schemas, data models, and transaction logs.

Hardware/POS: Solid understanding of POS and PED integration flows in a physical retail environment.

Methodology & Testing: Experience writing user stories in Agile environments and triaging complex payment defects.

Compliance: Strong understanding of PCI compliance and tokenization standards.
