Hi,

the wiki page on the USB_networking does not mention any setup on
board side.
http://code.google.com/p/0xdroid/wiki/USB_Networking

Does it mean the 0xdroid already pre-load the necessary module for usb
networking?

but I couldn't find any g_ether.ko module, either can I see usb0 or
usb1 when i run ifconfig.

Do I need to rebuild from the source and kernel?

also i couldn't find /system/lib/module folder inside board, where is
the module directory?

thanks
jason

Hi,

The wiki page is obsolete now. You should try ADB networking.

We would suggest to use newer boards such as Beagleboard-xM,
Pandaboard, and Snowball. All provide the native Ethernet support.
The wiki page was meant to be valid only for beagle-donut release.

Sorry for misleading.

Thanks for your reply.

In fact there is built-in Ethernet interface in devkit8000 and i have
no problem to connect network with it.

I just thought that to be able to connect through USB is a cool
feature
and want to try out with 0xdroid and my devkit8000.

I will continue to try this no matter how.

thanks anyway

hi Jason,

The Ethernet Manager in 0xdroid should be able to handle builtin NIC
shipped in DevKit8000.

Didn't it work for you?

It is not necessary though.

Using USB gadget driver should be more flexible.

Hi Jim,

does the USB gadget driver refer to the g_ether.ko?
that's why i ask at the beginning whether 0xlab prebuilt rom support
g_ether.ko.
I couldn't find this module in any of the android folder.
Could you elaborate how I can enable usb gadget?

thanks
jason
