Use your smartphone to explore the diversity and beauty of music in its original context, and travel back in time to the bustling trading port of Galway. 'Putting Music In Its Place' is a smartphone tour of Galway that you can follow whenever you like; you are guided around 10 medieval locations by a Spanish Captain who introduces you to the places and to the music that you hear there.

The tour is on the 7scenes app, which can be downloaded for free from the iphone and Google Play stores.  Once you open it search for 'galway' and the GEMF Musical Tour of Galway should appear. You will need to give a user name and password (useful for leaving reviews at the end).  The tour media is triggered to download at the beginning of the tour - so it's good to be in a wifi area when you begin (the House Hotel has free wifi).

For maximum effect we recommend following the tour during the opening hours of the historic buildings, so 9am - 4pm, Mon-Fri.  We also recommend downloading the tour map and instructions HERE   The tour takes approx. 30minutes.
