Dear all -

The CodeNinja Showdown will be held tomorrow at 1 PM (21 March 2012) in the Engineering Building Foyer.

CodeNinja is the first app-oriented competition for students in Galway.  The aim of CodeNinja is to train and encourage students to be creative in the cultivation of their own tech ideas.

The judges have reviewed all the entries and narrowed things down to four finalists, and we will announce the winners of CodeNinja 2012 tomorrow at 1 in the Eng Foyer. The four finalists will be there to demo their apps.... and we'll all be there to chat/discuss all things app-related with them and with you.

The prizes will be presented by Prof. Chris Curtin - Vice President for Innovation, NUI Galway.

Thank you Domhnall but I don't have a lot of expectations. I don't think my app was so special and I've seen one other from the 4th years in the GMIT who also entered and I just found out that he also is on the final, and I think his app is really cool.

I forgot to mention earlier that I got second prize on the individual final. An iPod touch which is going straight to adverts, the fucking thing doesn't work without iTunes which doesn't work on Linux.

anyway, happy out with it. You will probably see something in the newspaper soon.

Congrats Carles, well done! Even if you don't actually like the 'touch, it's still worth a few quid, right??

The best individual prize is an iPad which would still require iTunes, so oh well.

Even if it's an 8GB, that's still 200 quid new, so it'll buy you something nice, right??
