The excerpts from Page 22 of the Chapter 1 did not give me enough
information to complete this assignment. I had to go out and find the
book and read chapter 2, 'Sacred Meat'. In this chapter Ehrenreich
expands her view of the sacralization of war, giving me much more
content to work from.

Irvin: thanks for the tip
all: the syllabus lists a recommended reading schedule of about a
chapter a week. Ehrenreich begins discussing modern countries and the
USA more specifically in Part II. chapters 10 and 11 may be useful to
preview. the index in the back of the book may also provide assistance
in searching topics.
