| user defined internal ip-addresses | john....@fake-box.com | 10/05/16 03:01 | hi i noticed, when changing an appvm's netvm and restoring a backup that the appvm's ip-address changes. i was wondering, how you determine the internal ips (+ gateway ip). furthermore would it be possible to make the ip a vm setting (similar to the mac)? i noticed it because i have networking between some vms and the iptables rules broke. (and i could organize the ip-addresses for my vms in a way i can remember them. this is useful if looking logged traffic) would there be any downside to ip's set by the user? (i don't think so) -john |

To see this, run (in dom0): $ qvm-ls --network --ids Then compare the "qid" and "ip" columns. Notice that the last octet of each IP is equal to (qid + 2). I'm not sure about the gateway IP. > (similar to the mac)?i noticed it because i have networking between > some vms and the iptables rules broke.(and i could organize the > ip-addresses for my vms in a way i can remember them. this is> useful if looking logged traffic)would there be any downside to > ip's set by the user?
