| Missing window borders in XFCE | Robert Fisk | 08/06/14 05:42 | Hi all,
I am encountering an issue with Qubes R2RC1, where upon login to the XFCE desktop about 50% of the time the colored borders are missing from all windows. It is still possible to start VMs, but windows cannot be moved or resized or closed with the mouse. I work around the issue by repeated logout/login or switching to KDE instead. Can anyone else see this, or is it just me? Regards, Robert |

Hi Robert,
I'm not an Xfce user myself, but you seem to have caught the list during a Spring lull so I'll try to give you some leads. Here are some troubleshooting threads for the problem of the Xfce window manager not starting: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=143920 https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=157956 http://wiki.xfce.org/faq#window_manager The last link has a subsection called, 'I have only one desktop and can't move my windows anymore!' which indicates this is a known bug in Xfce. Hopefully their workarounds will also work for you. |
