Nathan's Famous Inc., manufactures and distributes high quality hot
dogs and american food. I understand the basic and advanced aspects of
the business. If you were to approach Nathan's as Warren Buffet might,
you would understand one similarity to my approach. Buy what you
understand. There isn't too much behind what Nathan's does as a
business entity. They manufacture hot dogs primarily. That said,
Nathan's also has durable competitive advantages as well such as brand
name and offered products. Of course you might state that Wendy's and
Mac Donald's have fries as well. However, do they offer gourmet hot
dogs? What other company does what Nathan's does with the passion and
commitment to quality that Nathan's has achieved. In addition, hot
dogs are able to withstand economic downturns because they are fairly
cheep to manufacture and purchase. During our financial and market
crisis right now many individuals have cut back on their spending...
but most of them can still afford a great hot dog. Income has very
little bearing on whether or not you can afford a hot dog from
Nathan's. Of course, you do have economy brand hot dogs as well such
as Western Family, but most people prefer a great hot dog from
Nathan's Famous Inc,. To conclude, I will also note that Nathan's is
accumulating cash on hand as well. I see this company as a potential
buyout candidate eventually. Perhaps KRAFT, one of Warren's latest
investments, or another large company, will buy them out.

Other companies that might be interested might be Yum Brands or any of
the other major restaurant holding companies. Another one might be
Triarc (owner of Wendy's and Arby's).
