What is your Eclipse version and OS?
Did you follow the steps under "Troubleshooting ADT Installation" section below:

I’m also had the same problem a couple of times (I installed Android on 2 work machines and 2 home machines). In both of the cases where it didn’t work properly the first time, trying again a couple of minutes later worked. Maybe the repository is just very busy??

If you can't access https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/ simply
try to use http:// instead of https://.

Hi Ralf,

thanks for the reply!

I did try that as well, but in the end (of the eclipse installation
process) it complains it cannot connect to the keystore and fails:

An error occurred during provisioning.
  Cannot connect to keystore.

Re: [android-beginners] Re: No repository found at https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/ Filipe Abrantes 28/08/08 02:31
Just one more detail... the error code generated by Eclipse is:

No repository found at https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/
  Error reading update site https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/.
  HANDSHAKE_FAILURE: locally generated; FATAL

Cheers,
Filipe

Re: [android-beginners] Re: No repository found at https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/ Filipe Abrantes 29/08/08 06:54
has anyone had success with this problem...

I am getting this error repeatedly even if I try installing through
http:// or .zip file locally:

An error occurred during provisioning.
Cannot connect to keystore.
JKS

Cheers,
Filipe

Well, just visiting the site shows the problem:
https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/

Google - Error: Not Found
The requested URL /android/eclipse/ was not found on this server.

Of course that's not a valid repository format.

Re: [android-beginners] Re: No repository found at https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/ Xavier Ducrohet 30/08/08 20:16

Actually it just means that there's no default html file (index.html
for instance).
There is, however a site.xml file which is all Eclipse cares about.

I have just rebooted but the problem persists,

No repository found at https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/site.xml
  Error reading update site
https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/site.xml.
  HANDSHAKE_FAILURE: locally generated; FATAL

Anything has a clue on what this means?

I don't know what that in particular means. I was getting a different
error on both the local ATP downloaded file and the https site.
Also when it finally did work it was on the http://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/
site.
Oh, I also had to disable my firewall (Using Kerio Personal Firewall)
2.1.5
Hope this helps.

I finally got this to work... Apparently it had something to do with gcj
(I'm on linux). After uninstalling gcj the thing worked.

Okay, we struggled with this problem forever, the solution is:

You need to install Sun Java 6 (this is needed both to use the HTTPS
and to use the keystore, even if you are installing from HTTP or from
local file)

Follow the instructions here and make sure you also select the correct
Java version to use (as it states in the article)

This did not fix the problem for me. I still get the same error. When
I click on details, I get following error info...

No repository found at https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/
  Error reading update site https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/.
  Unconnected sockets not implemented

Any inputs.

I went to the end of the editbox in eclipse where you type "https://dl-
ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/" and then I pressed backspace twise
such that last 2 Characters "e/" from the URL "https://dl-
ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/" were deleted.............. then I
typed them again at the end.

Then everything worked like magic.

I resolved it by going to the non secure site

Great! I solve it!

I use the
                  http://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/site.xml
instead of
                  https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/
You can try it on your eclipse.

By the way, I think you can try these links on your IE. I can
successfully open the first link.
Good Luck!

Thanks to the user who mentioned his problem in Iran.

I'm in Macau S.A.R., People's Republic of China.

I previously tried all combinations of https:// and http:// with and
without /site.xml in the path and none of them worked.

Then I tried proxying my eclipse network traffic via a proxy in the
United Kingdom (Window -> Preferences -> Network Connections) and the
http:// URL worked fine.

Since China's 'golden shield' does not affect the S.A.Rs of Hong Kong
and Macau, I can only assume that this is filtering on Google's side.

This is the first time I notice any kind of internet filtering based
on my current location (apart from the BBC News website, where some of
the video content is exclusive to British TV tax payers). Weird isn't
it?
Re: No repository found at https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/ EvanK 21/12/08 00:28
I'm having the same problem (No repository found), and it's certainly
not filtering on the ISP side...I live in Texas, USA.  Not sure why
Google would be filtering traffic from Texas, but I used a UK proxy
and it worked fine.
Re: No repository found at https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/ Adam G. 09/01/09 00:15
The same from me. But not USA, nor UK. I am from Germay and sitting in
the University. I find that very very strange. Because beside this I
have never had problems to access any of Google's pages...

I tried the trick with the UK proxy, but I couldn't find a free one :
( Will continue with the search!

It might be something about the ending characters--though I didn't
detect any whitespace.  I type the following and it worked:
