Here's the resolution of the zine fair situation - email Eloise Quinlivan to reserve your free table!
Immense thanks to Luke for all his efforts in keeping the zine fair fair (I have held back making a pun on unfair throughout the discussion but have now given in at the last moment). Thanks to everyone who joined in on the discussion, and if you haven't been to TINA for a few years, think about going for the fair this year. There's a month to go - enough time to throw a zine together. Do it!
This year, the National Young Writers' Festival is offering a limited number of free half-tables to those with books, magazines or zines to sell at the Zine Fair.
To make sure you don't miss out on a place, email our Zine Co-ordinator Eloise Quinlivan at quinl...@gmail.com as fast as your wee fingers can type.
We're also excited to introduce our inaugural eFair where you can sell your own eBooks in the NYWF pool. More information on how to make and sell your eBook can be found here.
If you're a budding writer aged between 14 - 17 you might be keen to get involved in our Younger Young Writers' Program (YYWP). This year’s program focuses on the world of publishing: the process that transforms words from their creation on a notepad or laptop to their emergence in the form of a physical object. In order to lift the curtain and show younger young writers the workings of the world of publishing, NYWF has teamed up with a group of talented young editors, designers, typographers, proofreaders, and printers to create a chapbook of YYWP participants’ work over the course of the festival. For more information about the 2012 YYWP, click here.
And just before your brain explodes with all this new information, we thought we'd squeeze in one more tidbit. We're offering a series of free, intensive writing and publishing workshops, with the likes of such excellent folk as Christian Lander, Zoe Dattner, Josephine Rowe, Rebecca Giggs, and FBi Radio's All the Best to name just a few. Places are capped at 10 people per workshop, so make sure you find out more and submit before September 7 to avoid tears.
OK that's all for now.
Except... you might also be interested in knowing that the theme for this year's ball is HIP HOP SAFARI. So go stock up on some rad animal print sweat bands, and stay tuned for our next newsletter on Program Highlights, coming your way next week.
