Canon finally released Google Cloud Print support for my Pixma MG8220 and finally I have the ability to print from my Chromebook. Now after a few days I have yet to have a good experience. The print job does eventually complete successfully so the functionality seems to be working ok. It takes several hours for the job to go from my Chromebook to the printer. It shows up on the cloud print website immediately but the job is not sent to the printer. I talked with Canon tech support about this and they said that it is basically Cloud Print functionality and depends on Google's server load. They said Cloud Print is intended for people who aren't at home and want to print to their home so it won't matter. I guess I could see that for that use case but my understanding is that Google Cloud Print is the intended way to print from a Chromebook. It's completely worthless if I have to wait for hours. Any ideas or info on this?
