I wish there was someway to permanently ban a person entirely from the game. I know a local person playing who has like 3 accounts and another person with 1 or 2 accounts.
Issue is that there is no guaranteed way to prevent this and emails are free and people can just continue to create accounts.

Yea, but after getting up to Level 5-6 and having to restart several times will eventual discourage them...

There are 5 of us in our family sharing an android phone and tablet. Are there any issues having multiple users, I thought not sine the application allows multiple users but am I at risk of losing my account because of this?

Ian, I'm not sure if your actions are in violation of the tos, but I imagine it would be suspect. I would recommend to buy some cheap android devices from eBay, I know people playing on gs1 variants and other late model devices... but I would think you are setting yourself, and the other account holders, up for trouble with niantic, even if you aren't cheating. It sure would suck to wake up one morning to every account being deleted, especially if you weren't cheating. Goodluck.

There is only one other person in our town except those who come from capital cities with level 5+ and take everything out every few weeks. I have not been able to work any significant time for 14 years and I am getting worse with my health. This is something in the family we can do together and gets me out of the house. Don't have a lot of spare money for extra devices. I would like to hear direct from Niantic. It is not like we go out every day blitzing everything in sight but do understand if Niantic take exception to multiple accounts one device but since the feature is included in the app we need clarification. Perhaps if it is an issue they should limit the number of logins on the app, say set one or two accounts to use on each device.

Having the same concern with you, Ian. My family members share 3 Android devices and 2 invites. We log in multiple accounts in multiple devices for our convenience, we NEVER use that for cheating (player teleporting for example). But I really worried getting banned without any warning or a chance to explain. Also, my fellows and I want to share items so we shared the same level 1 account just to help each other, no cheating purposes. Is there any fair and official way to share items online?

@martin,I see how abuses can occur. I don't have enough time for that. I get out about every second or third day with family. I don't know what Teleporting is but I see people faking location and being in one place at one time and another place a long way away seconds later which is clearly cheating.
I would like to get this clarified, in my opinion if there is a limit per phone the software needs to enforce it not let people like us guess and possibly make a mistake. I now worry about having more than one person use the login.
Also I run a tablet of my sons on my Phone WiFi access point so would have same IP address flag as more than one user through one phone?

My friend's account has been deactivated after he was falsely reported by someone for "cheating." Unless riding around with me in my car while playing is cheating, then he has been falsely accused & punished for something he did not do. What I want to know is how I can help him get his account reactivated, because I would really like to get my copilot back. If any moderators see this I would greatly appreciate it if you would contact me to help. Thanks.

we have few points that can be considered as fraud/measures to control fraud.
1. have logic to see same person not reaching different portals which is not really possible, I mean the time constraint.

@supernob I think that the idea of the game is for people to get out physically and do the game yourself but collecting XM for say my wife I hope would not be an issue. If this is just for convenience because your friend or significant other can not get out I would think it would be borderline but an official response would be interesting.
I think the the things they are concerned about are people deliberately trying to manipulate the system but we do need to know where the line is as there are shades of grey that are unclear.
One problem for Niantic is they probably don't want to tell people what exploits are going on but peoples assumptions based on how they understand the terms of service need clarifying. Problem is that how do you determine if one person playing two devices is cheating by running two accounts of their own or if they are playing for someone else.
I think out of this discussion we could get a clear list of what is allowed and not.
My debate on using one device for two people is if the application lets you login to more than one user then you need to be given the benefit of the doubt. If there is a user limit on a device then it would not be hard to program it out.
If playing for someone else is a problem spell it out, I am fairly sure that would be frowned upon and is probably not keeping in the spirit of the game.
I think faking location and exploiting loopholes though are what they are talking about. I don't think families sharing devices or collecting XM while driving around would be an issue but if it is then clarify. I have stopped multiple players on one device until I get a clear answer.

What about one person is acutally playing with 2 devices, but not just helping wife to collect XM.
Account A fires xmp and capture a portal,
Account B depolys all res,
Account A upgrades all res that account B just depolied.
All of this is done by a single player.
From server side, everything looks fine.
Will such act be consider as cheat?
Any words from official?

I think the rule are very clear on that SuperNoob.
The community guild lines clear list under cheating "playing with multiple accounts (one account per player, please); sharing accounts;"
One individual with two accounts is cheating. Using two devices just makes it so that they can use both account simultaneously and makes it harder to catch them. But they will get caught eventually.

I have my account on my phone and my wife's account too.
My wife has the iPhone so she can play only from my phone.
I have already ordered a new phone with Android for my wife and, a few days later, she will play with her phone. But I`m suspended :(
