FWIW the file upload is handled by the standard Servlet 3 mechanisms. Since it wants a temp dir, I assume it saves uploaded files to a temp dir. I actually went to look and observed the temp directory, and I do see files created and deleted rapidly (~seconds) in the directory. So, yeah short-lived files.
