QR detection behind glass or with reflections

It seems zxing (used in a cordova barcode scanner plugin) is unable to properly detect QR codes when there are reflections on it (because the code is behind glass). I've tried other qr code scan apps and all of them could still detect the code under the same circumstances.

Any settings I could tweak to make zxing more fault tolerant?
