Hi all,

I have previously posted about the possibility of hosting a library
lookup engine collection here:

https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/zotero-dev/ZoxwFrpj3KQ

With Zotero’s brilliant new “save button” (thank you!) which allows
lookup even when an item has not been added to Zotero, I think the
library lookup feature has become even more useful. Being able to
lookup items in your library immediately is great.

It would be great to work out how to host these for local public
libraries.

I have a small set of scripts, templates and data (imported from the
defunct bookburrito project) to do this, hosted here:

https://github.com/egh/zotero-lookup-engines

The generated files are here:

http://egh.github.io/zotero-lookup-engines/

I have added a link to that site here:
https://www.zotero.org/support/locate

This is pretty much ready to go, but it could use a little cleanup and
some promotion. Any thoughts on this? Thanks!

best, Erik

There is a list of OpenURL servers: https://www.zotero.org/support/locate/openurl_resolvers

Wiki: It may be a little confusing if we have the normal "Library Lookup" by entering an OpenURL and then the "Public Library Lookup Engines" some lines below. When should the user use which option?

Hi Phillip,

Thanks for the pointer. This is a good point.

As I understand it, Zotero can have one main OpenURL resolver, and a
unlimited number of lookup engines.

It does seem that lookup engines can use be normal OpenURL resolvers,
so I have added all those resolvers to my configuration
(https://github.com/egh/zotero-lookup-engines/commit/ffac1e484a6c4b93a1972072ae83869686ad28ed)
, and they are now available as additional engines, e.g.

best, Erik
