Weapons are a bad idea.

There are a surprising amount of requests for weapons. I guess people
are thinking this "game" is more like an arcade or xbox/ps zombie
action game.

How would you even implement weapons in a game like this?? What would
you shoot? There aren't any actual zombies to aim at!!!!! How would
you aim at all? This is a nav game. People seem to want to be
dropped into Resident Evil 4. This seems entirely unreasonable
considering what Zombie Run is. I just don't understand why anybody
would have realistic expectations from requesting weapons be added.

If the dev wants to go in that direction, that's fine but it'd
obviously require a lot of re-working the existing Zombie Run.
It seems from the web page, the app description in market, and all the
in-game documentation, that Zombie Run was obviously not intended to
provide an arcade zombie-shooter game experience.

An augmented reality game where the phone simply overlays images of
zombies on top of your camera's view might cool. I can also see it
being stupid. At any rate, that would be an entirely different game
from Zombie Run.

Totally agree, and if they do add weapons, it would be too easy, u could just walk to ur destination, making it so the app gets boring.

Yeah it doesn't make much sense but I think it's to be expected that when a game requires people to use their imaginations, some let theirs run wild.

The pics of zombies on the camera screen does have merit, it worked for Spectrek which is another gps game I play on my htc android. But I like Zombie, Run! as it is.

Okay first Dennis, the subject of adding weapons to a gps game and getting exercise are separate issues. 2nd, your assumption that people chiming their support or opposition to this topic need to go get exercise makes you seem really judgmental and, I'll say it, kind of an ass. If you can't say something that's on topic or not insulting or judgmental to others it would be better if you save the wear and tear on your keyboard and not respond at all.

Okay seriously, shut up Dennis. Go join a paintball and jogging forum if you can't stay on topic. This is about the game, Zombie, Run! Not the "let's judge others and tell them to get exercise" forum.

Clint, as far as I remember, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Just because you, for some reason took a great personal offense to someone saying "game's perfect, go jogging," it does not mean it is off topic. Also, if you're looking for some communal forum where everyone is nice and a great person to each other, why did you come to the internet?

P.S. Would you consider this post more "on topic" if people started talking about pie?

Telling someone to go jogging is not an opinion, your argument is invalid. Also I did not start that stuff in the other thread, if you have a problem with it you are talking to the wrong person. If you have a problem with the fact I don't constantly pass judgment on others and don't like when others do it then, again, deal with it.

Jeez, Clint. Denniz is now officially the only person "on topic" and he was the one you originally attacked for not being "on topic" even though he was absolutely "on topic." This is confusing.

Getting back on topic... the inclusion of guns would also be hard foe the dev to install as I'm pretty sure someone already said, and the only way I see it happening is u tap ona zombie, it dies, too easy

Agreed. There's a certain realism to watching you move on your screen through your actual city while zombies close in. If you just tap the zombies to kill them, it kind of detaches the user from the game.

We would love someone to do a Zombie, Run game with weapons and would
be happy to host the competition on our site. http://zombieaffliction.com
We love Zombie, Run and think that a good start for weapons would be
bombs where players could have a certain amount of bombs or similar
type apparatus. Maybe even have the game start with people as non-
Zombies and then get the Zombie Disease (Affliction) by hitting a
spot on the map where another user has left the Zombie Disease
(Affliction) bomb. Kinda like tag for Zombies.

Now here is a suggestion, if you want weapons/augmented reality/reality/Left 4 Dead/infection capabilitys, go code that, that is the point of Android, if you have the skillz you can make it, this is open source (Zombie, Run!) so if you need a base use that. Now do you get why SOME people (not me) say "app is perfect"? Because its what they want, to run from zombies.
Out of interest what is this US reason that saying I like pie is funny? I thought it was just random.
