Our New Search List Embedded Player

We’re happy to let web developers and video embedders know about a new
way of displaying YouTube videos on your pages: an embedded player
that displays the results of a YouTube search. This is powered by the
same visual interface that’s used for our new playlist player, and
uses a similar <iframe> mechanism as other types of embeds.

To get a search list player on your page that displays videos matching
“funny cats”, you could use the following <iframe> tag:

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed?
q=funny+cats" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

You can, of course, replace the funny+cats value of the q= parameter
with whichever search terms you’d like to use.

We have a number of other enhancements in store related to playing
back lists of videos, but we wanted to get the word out about this
specific functionality right away. It’s also worth mentioning that the
list players currently support Flash playback only. Using an <iframe>
for your list embeds ensures that you’ll automatically gain HTML5
<video> playback once that functionality is added to the list player.
