Union Budget 2012: DMIC through Gr. Noida
Better chance for development of Greater Noida
Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor Receives US $ 4.5 Billion from Japan While presenting the General Budget 2012-13 in Lok Sabha, the Union Finance Minister, Shri Pranab Mukherjee informed that the Japanese Prime Minister has announced US $ 4.5 billion for the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC). In September last year, the Government approved Central assistance to the tune of Rs. 18,500 crore for a period of five years for the project, the Minister added. The DMIC is being developed on either side of the Western Dedicated Rail Freight Corridor.
The multi-modal high axle load dedicated freight corridor (DFC) between Delhi and Mumbai will pass through the six States - Uttar Pradesh, the National Capital region of Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Maharashtra, with end terminals at Dadri in the National Capital Region of Delhi and Jawaharlal Nehru Port near Mumbai. Funds for the projects would come from the Indian government, Japanese loans, and investment by Japanese firms and through Japan depository receipts issued by the Indian companies.
