Hey Guys,

As proposed, I am releasing the Scntoc Res Manager v1.0. This is a stand-alone app that I wrote in pyQt to open, view and modify .scntoc files.

The project is hosted on git, repo here:

Just a quick note for those cloning the repo:

The usual way to clone the repo is by the https :
https://github.com/alok1974/scntocResManager.git

For the SSH method an SSH key is required which I need to install on github.com. So I recommend using the http method above for you guys if you want to clone.

Hi Alok,

there are some minor problems on linux here.

- changing styles get me this: 
Traceback (most recent call last):
...
  File "/nfshome/vladi/scntocResManager/widgets.py", line 81, in setColor
    raise Exception('Style Path - %s does not exist !!' % p)

this is due to the fact that linux is case sensitive. so the stylesheet files should all be lowercase.

- pressing on Help, F1 or About results in a Segfault

one cool thing that would be handy is if one could actually change the contents of the Res Path field. For example to change a version of the reference.
and of course a search and replace in that place would be helpful too :)

Thanks for bugs vlad. Honestly I did not test this on linux or mac yet, but will surely do so in a day or two. Of course changing the res path is a good idea. Will incorporate this as well. Not sure about the segfault, will check that too.

Vlad, the bug for the stylesheet on linux is fixed ! Apparently the paths were all small case but linux was not liking the "_" in the txt file name.

You pull again or download the zip again.

For the segfault, I did not get any on ubuntu 12.04 (perfect pangolin) it was working all fine. If you can tell me the distro you are testing it on, maybe I can dig dipper.

Hi All,

I have updated the Scntoc Res Manager to version 1.1. Here's what is included in the new version:

1. Bug Fixes : Some major, some minor.
2. File names shown in the title window.
3. History of 5 recent files opened in the file menu.
4. Active resolution of each model displayed in the model list.
5. Models list can now be filtered according to active resolution.
6. Help files updated with new features.

Hi All,

I have released Version 1.02 of the Scntoc Res Manager. There were a lot of improvement in the UI.

Here is the summary of ver 1.02 updates:

1. Ability to select and change resolution path of the multiple models in a single go.
2. A find and replace functionality in the resolution path change dialog.
2. A lot of bug fixes.

Also an addon for Softimage is released:
1. The exact same functionality as the stand alone application.
2. An open scene event to parse scntoc files before the scene is loaded.
3. A standalone GUI inside softimage as well so that any other scntoc file on disk can be opened and manipulated.
4. Open scene event can be enabled/disabled with a single command.

With this update I think most of the work needed for reference model resolution is concluded.

Thanks a lot for releasing this tools, it's beyond useful!

The only bug I've found it is that it crashes when you have a scene open and you try and toggle SRM.

I will try to repro that bug on my side and let you know. Toggle just reloads the plugin and writes the current state to the disk. I will get back to you.

We just tried Scntoc Res Manager in 2014 SP2, windows and it seems to be broken, have you tried it? Is there an easy fix?

We found this addon very useful by the way!!!

Just by looking into it can you delete all the .pyc files in all the folders of the addon. If that does not solve it, I will dig further.

I fixed the issue. The addon should work now in python 2.7. Haven't tested it on 2014, but I think it should be fine. Please do let me know in either case it works or not.

Ok it is fixed now. As I lost the source file for widgets.py, owing to the vagaries of my own carelessness, I have to reverse engineer most of the code. I think this should be stable now. But please do let me know if you find more bugs.
