Hello list,

I'm playing with the Tim feather compound and try to extrude the strands
as flat grid. When I set the Base shape to sphere and sides to 2. It
still give me a 2 sided shape( a grid with thickness)...

Someone know how to modify the compound to get grids instead of cylinder
extrusion. I tried mt strand extrusion, but the strand extrusion doesn't
fit the strand shape, the strand root position seems to be skipped and
start the extrusion at the second strandposition. And with the native
compound, Create extrusion along strands, it's nice that the strand
shape/profile is kept in the strand extrusion.

If someone could point me a thread on a forum or a video on
youtube/vimeo, that would be nice.

thx

Doum

Sorry, i am not sure if i really understood what you want... but here is a solution for thaht what i understood.

- Get a empty-PolyMesh
- ICETree
- Grab the "Create Extrusion Along Strands"-Compound
- Set the BaseShape Nb Subdivisions to 2

- Go into the Compound to: Create Extrusion Along Strands / Apply Extrusion / Build Quads Description / Build Last Quads Description
- Set the Integer at the Left Subtract-Node to 2

Here is my Result and the Way to do this.
Becouse i dont got a XSI2013 i cant test this with Tim's FeatherCompound

Thx Vincent!

I know my explanation wasn't clear, but it's exactly what I was trying
to do.

Tim feather work on 2012, If you have it.
