xdotool type options

i read on some page that i should send questions about xdotool to this
mail so i give it a shot, i cant manage to use the type options, if i
type "xdotool type --window 1234 msg" it prints "--window1234msg" in
the current active window when it should print "msg" in the window
with wid 1234, what am i doing wrong?

Also please cut and paste the exact text here, from what you posted,
it looks like it did what you told it.
