What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Opening XAOS on OS X ML
2. Trying to zoom in/out using the mouse button
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Instead of zooming the fractal flickers (screen turns black and normal at a
high frequency) and doesn't change at all. It will always stay the default
mandelbrot, also panning does not work. Changing the formula/mode also
results in no results but the flickering mandelbrot. Changing the driver
and switching off all filters didn't yield results either.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

I'm using Xaos 3.5 running at OS X 10.8.1

The X11 version xaos-3.5-x11-macosx10.8.tar.gz

Are you definitely using the X11 version? xaos-3.5-macosx.dmg didn't work
for me but xaos-3.5-x11-macosx10.8.tar.gz did.

it is working finally, i had this file for quite a while and i could not
make it work, today i ran the executable file (xaos.exec in the /bin
folder) from terminal and it works!
