Just curious...there doesn't seem to be much activity here, and it
looks to me like SDK download had been disabled. Has XAM been put on
the back-burner? Is there something superseding it? Just not a lot
of uptake?

5 years later... now I am curious. What's the state of XAM?

As far as I know, all vendors have withdrawn from XAM efforts. HP never managed to
get their efforts out of the door. I recall EMC end-of-lifing their product a couple of years
ago.

The SDK may be available from some individuals, but I'd be surprised if SNIA stiff has
anything.

Most effort at SNIA appear to be focused on the web services API effort.

SNIA does still have the XAM SDK v1.0.1 available here:

https://www.snia.org/tech_activities/standards/software/xamsdk

But Development efforts have moved over to the CDMI ISO Standard which has many of the features of XAM as far as system metadata support.

There is a reference implementation of CDMI as well.
