SUBJECT: UPDATE ON ARLINE WINERMAN
FROM: DALLAS
P.
Sunday 8/28/16: Arline is still working her way back to the dance
floor. Nurses and therapists are still working with her every day.
She fell at home Friday night and badly bruised her back and tailbone, also
managed to make a pretty good gash in her arm too. The pt who came
Saturday called the oncall nurse who came over and checked her out and bandaged
her arm. Nothing broken thank heavens but she is a bit sore.
Yes she was using her walker but bumped the table and lost her balance.
Monday Arline wil see her primary for some blood work. I told her she had
to be ready for ProAm in Tampa by November.//Hugs

SUBJECT: FOOTHILLS OF VIRGINIA INTERMEDIATE
WORKSHOP
FROM: Sue Ann Ehmann SueAn...@gmail.com
The 2016 Foothills of Virginia Intermediate Line Dance Workshop
was
another fun success here in Stella, VA. We had a lovely turnout of
dancers from Virginia and North Carolina and we danced our feet off. A
huge thank you to my co-host, Marianna Timmons who is invaluable when it comes
to the planning that goes into these workshops. This year our guest
instructor was LISA UTZ and I can say without reservation that she is a fabulous
instructor! Event Directors take note if you are looking for some new
talent to teach at your events – ask Lisa Utz! Thanks for being on our
team, Lisa! Mary Kaye Johnson was our DJ and it goes without saying that
she did an amazing job.
These are the dances that were taught throughout the day:
PIECES by Dustin Betts – everyone loved this one (of course!)
DEEPLY DONE by Gene Alan Dooley. (This is a lovely, dance to the song
“Truly, Madly, Deeply” by Savage Garden.) Check it out!
CORAZON DIAMANTE by Roy Verdonk, Maggie Gallagher, & Gary O'
Reilly
HANDCLAP by Bracken Ellis and Brandon Zahorsky. Fun, fun fun!
DIE A HAPPY MAN by Rachael McEnaney-White and Joey Warren. Highly
requested.
SHAKE THAT by Maddison Glover.
ABOUT FEELINGS by Ria Vos
AGUA Y FUEGO by Roy Verdonk, Raymond Sarlemijn, and Daniel Trepat was also
taught as a fun, easy dance to warm up with.
We ordered lunch in from a local establishment, and many went out to dinner
together before coming back to dance more in the evening. Evening dances
included reviews of most of the dances taught during the day, plus other
requests. All in all, a fun, fun day, with great friends and dancers. Thank you
to everyone who came out! Hope you’ll join us next August for our next
Foothills of Virginia Intermediate Workshop here in Stella,
VA.

Aurora Dance Magic Workshop What a wonderful day we
had at the first (and we hope ‘annual’) line dance event in Aurora Ontario,
graciously hosted by Carolyn Beer.

Am’ and ‘I Can’t Do This’. Rhoda Lai taught ‘Neverland’, ‘California
Dream’ and ‘Till Ya Legs Hurt’. Marthe Thibeault taught ‘Handclap’. Rose Small
taught ‘KTS’ and ‘I Love Me’.
Everything ran like clockwork, thanks to
Carolyn and her team of volunteers. DJ Eddie Lai kept us soooo .... busy playing

*New this year: Special Couples Workshops
The event officially
starts a day earlier this year: Tuesday, November 8th.
We've added this day
to provide additional Technique Workshops from many of our
All Star line up
of Instructors and Choreographers. In addition on Tuesday, one of our ball rooms
will be dedicated to teaches of Classic Dances. Registration will begin at noon;
Specialty Technique Workshops, Basic Beginner Fundamentals, and Classic Dance
workshops will begin at 1 pm on Tuesday. Workshops will begin at 10 am everyday
after that. We will also have a "Welcome to Vegas" evening dance beginning at
8:00 pm.
Also new this year: "Fast Pass" - limited to the first 200 people who
purchase this pass in addition to their regular Gold or Platinum Pass! Fast Pass
will allow those dancers early entry to our designated "Evening Show" ball room
before other dancers. Our "Evening Show" ball room will have stadium seating to
accommodate all 1500 dancers.
Please Note: Fast Pass holders WILL NOT be permitted to save seats for
anyone! We will have 2 doors to our ball room which will open simultaneously
allowing Fast Pass Dancers first entry. All evening shows and performances will
begin at 8:30 pm and conclude before 9:00 pm.
There will be a total of 5 different ballrooms running simultaneously
during the day, with open dancing being offered throughout the day in our Line
Dance Lobby!
Workshops will be repeated during the course of the event in
order to allow you to catch a workshop you might have missed or to reinforce the
lesson you may have already taken.
One of our ballrooms will be solely
dedicated to Beginner thru High Beginner Dances. That same ballroom will be
designated each evening as our Beginner Dance Ballroom.
For added fun and excitement we will have "theme nights" for our evening
dances!
It is not mandatory for you to dress in costume but it sure is
alot of fun!! Be as creative as you want!!
Keep in mind that there will be
loads of sales on Halloween costumes after October 31st!
THURSDAY Night - Back by popular demand: INTERNATIONAL NIGHT:
Show your
pride for your heritage by dressing in a style typical to the country
of
your origin! Be part of the International Parade and see how many countries and
States are represented!
FRIDAY Night - THE ROARING 20'S : It's the era of flappers, gangsters, jazz
music, prohibition, and the Charleston! Moonshine anyone??
SATURDAY Night - EGYPTIAN NIGHT : Recreate a long-ago world of Pharaohs,
The Queen of the Nile, King Tut, Cleopatra and Alexander the Great...all you
need is your imagination! Be ready to be transported back to the century of
pyramids and temples when Roy Verdonk, his dancers and your very talented
Instructors, take you on a magic carpet ride Saturday Night!
SUNDAY Night - ELVIS IS IN THE BUILDING - Our Sunday night
Farewell Dance and Show;
your Instructors, Choreographers, Roy Verdonk and
his dancers will entertain you one last time with a spectacular tribute
performance to the King of Rock and Roll : Elvis Presley.
What could be more
fitting than to bring the memory of Elvis back to life at the very hotel where
he performed 600 record-breaking, sold out shows between 1969 and 1976! This
year marks the 47th anniversary of Elvis launching his comeback to Las Vegas,
performing at the Westgate, then called the International Hotel, in July 1969.
FLASH MOBS - We have FILLED the Riviera Hotel lobby and the Westgate lobby
last year with our flash mobs! We aim to fill the Westgate lobby again! There
will be two flash mobs : a beginner and an intermediate dance. We are currently
taking your suggestions for dances - please email them to us at
Bona...@aol.com.
We will have workshops
scheduled for these dances so that everyone can participate!
The Flash Mobs
will take place Friday and Saturday at 1:15 during the lunch
break.
SUNDAY MORNING - LINE DANCE PRAISE AND WORSHIP - A wonderful way to start
your morning on the last day of the event, giving thanks and praising Him
through scripture and DANCE!

played at a comfortable level. There will be plenty of tables and chairs for
