SUBJECT: THE BARN-ANZA 8
FROM: JANIS GRAVES danc...@hotmail.com
What a wonderful day we had at The Barn-Anza 8 with JOHN ROBINSON and TREVOR THORNTON. It was a fun filled time with many new dances taught. John taught "Drinking Problem" (Darren Bailey) and "10 Minute Walk" (Simon Ward and Bracken Ellis) and Trevor taught "The Pretty Girls Said" (Trevor Thornton & Megan Wheeler) before we took our lunch break. The afternoon teach by John was "Flatt Out Dance" (Bracken Ellis, Junior Willis & John Robinson) and Trevor taught "Honky Tonk Highway" (Kelly Cavallaro). They both wanted to teach "Lonely Drum" (Darren Mitchell) -- John won that teach. The Barn-Anza 8 included open dance, photos and door prizes for dinner and event passes. I love that it is sold out as I have limited floor space, but a few dancers that had won passes to it show up at the door. I am happy to accommodate them, but this diminishes the room on the dance floor and I may not have what they would have chosen for lunch. If you win a pass to any event, please let the host/hostess know that you plan to attend.
I'm looking toward The Barn-Anza 9 -- stay tuned.
NOTE FROM ME: I'm reposting this because the dances taught weren't included in the last one (my bad).

SUBJECT: Dancing' with Marilyn, Ocala, FL FROM: Marilyn McNeal, BoarsN...@aol.com
Have to comment on the exceptional group of Intermediate/Advanced dancers at my Wednesday night class tonight! You were AWESOME!
I was excited to teach Niels Poulsen's brand new dance No Sun on Sundays. Another excellent dance by Niels - one of those that touches you with beautiful movements to beautiful music. We LOVED it! Thanks Niels!
Second dance tonight was Times Up by Karl-Harry Wilson and Tina Argyle. Really fun dance to Travis Tritt music. Classic dance was Backstreet Attitude by Jamie Marshall, written in 90's! I remember teaching it at Stillwater's Saloon and Midnight Rodeo too. You may have been there! Was labeled Intermediate in those days.
Also walked through Wakey Wakey by request, and danced several others that we've learned lately.
It was a fun night and I appreciate your support and happy faces. Next week will be reviews of many of these currently popular dances that were taught in July and August. Snacks provided but bring your own drink please. See you then and have a wonderful week. P.S. Ray is steadily recovering from the strokes. It's going to be a while getting back to 100% but he well on his way. Our continued thanks for your prayers. ***************************** SUBJECT: VIDEO OF THE WEEK (COUPLES)

Hope you had a good weekend! I'd like to announce a new single and line dance we will be promoting: Jake McVey - "Never Give Up"
Jake McVey grew up working on his family's farm in Iowa, but always wanted to pursue a career in music. After graduating high school, he moved to Phoenix, AZ to learn about guitar building at the Roberto-Venn School of Luthiery, and most of the guitars he performs with on stage today he built himself. He has a relentless touring schedule performing over 250 dates in the past year, and has shared the stage with some of country’s most acclaimed acts, including Dierks Bentley, Jason Aldean and Little Big Town. His new single, "Never Give Up" can be described as a "working man's anthem," and Jake has dedicated the song to our nation's first responders. It's positive message is something we could all use in this current day and age, and I hope you'll choose to play it! If you are interested in additional info about Jake, be sure to check out the Hightail link below which contains lyrics, bio, press shots, and more! An mp3 for the single is also attached to this email, and if you prefer a WAV file you can find it in the Hightail link as well.
Hightail Link with Additional Info: https://spaces.hightail.com/space/SeEKlkPYu3/files
We also have a new line dance for the song! "Never Never Give Up" that was choreographed by Karen Hedges! I've attached a step sheet if you're interested. Please let us know if you plan on using the dance!
Hope you enjoy the new music and if you get a chance to fill out our latest survey we'd love to know your thoughts about the new song as well as our other current titles.
