Subject: Tuesday High- Beg. to Inter.- Advanced Line Dance Class Pinellas

Park May 2nd  last night

We had a fun time last night at class but missed Joan and Vince.  Vince was in intensive care yesterday for a pulmonary embolism but he was doing okay when I talked with Joan.  They are doing lots of tests.  I don't know if he's still in Intensive care but I will keep you posted.  If you would like to send a card to Vince and Joan, let me know and I'll send you their address.  Get better soon, Vince. We miss you both!

Here is the note that Joan posted on Facebook this morning:

"Please send prayers to my husband Vince, who is in ICU with a large saddle pulmonary embolism in his lung. This came on suddenly with no warning signs except shortness of breath. They are treating him aggressively."

Teaches:

Last night I taught Run Me Like A River by Jo & John K., Guillame Richard, Roy Verdonk, & Jef Camps I really like this dance and most of the class did.

Clap Clap Clap by Amy G taught by Liz this is a fun, fast dance that had us all Clap Clap Clapping (and some leaping).  I was not one of the leapers.  LOL

Cheryl reviewed Wants and Needs by Darren and Kevin.  This is another fun, peppy dance you should check out.  Lynda reviewed L.O.V.E.  And we did lots of dancing.   Someone wanted to review Whistle While You Work It but Joan taught that so we will wait for her to return to review it again.

Our Class is a nonprofit class where anyone that wants to teach but we are

all just there to dance!

Thanks for all you support we continue to get class after class and year

Subject:  “2018 CARIBBEAN LINE DANCE CRUISE SENSATION”  (February 25 – March 2, 2018)

From:      Ira Weisburd (dancew...@comcast.net), Frank Trace (frank...@sssnet.com), Stella Cabeca (scab...@gmail.com)

Over 220 people have already been booked on next year’s “Caribbean Line Dance Cruise Sensation” with your hosts, FRANK TRACE, STELLA CABECA and IRA WEISBURD !!  There are just a few cabins remaining in our final block in each category and this may be your last chance to sign up.  There are now less than 15 cabins remaining, only a few in each category: Inside, Oceanview & Balcony  !!!   We are sailing on Royal Caribbean’s Navigator of the Seas on a 6 Day, 5 Night Luxury Cruise roundtrip from Miami to Costa Maya and Cozumel, Mexico, February 25 – March 2, 2018 .  Cabins are priced starting at only $652.00 US.  The Navigator of the Seas has just recently been refurbished and features inside cabins with virtual reality balconies where you see exactly in real time what it looks like outside the ship.

Our friendly team at Advantage Cruises & Tours, are waiting for your call NOW !!   All it takes is a $100 deposit to guarantee your cabin and there are NO cancellation fees up until your Final Payment is due on November 22nd !!  In addition, Trip Cancellation Insurance rates start as low as $35.  Marie Emmerich, owner/operator of Advantage Cruises and Tours will also be with us all the way to see that everything runs on time and smoothly, so that we all can enjoy a stress free vacation.

We will have 2 Daily Sessions EVERY MORNING & EVERY EVENING on the Spacious Ice Skating Rink (Studio B) and we are planning a couple of additional intermediate level workshops in the afternoon.  Even with all the dancing scheduled, there will be ample time to enjoy ports of call and all the entertainment aboard the Ship.  Everyone will receive a Complimentary Souvenir Backpack which can be used to carry your dance shoes, water bottle, cell phone and valuables on board the ship and when visiting Ports of Call.  We are planning a Welcome Party and Farewell Cocktail Party.  This Cruise will sell out quickly, so we hope you will take advantage of this opportunity and book your cabin TODAY !!!  We’ve enclosed links below to our Facebook Event page, where you can print out the flyer, fill out and mail in your booking sheet and we even have an FAQ page which answers most or all of the questions you might have.

Since we are expecting many dancers from the U.S., Canada and abroad to join us next year, Stella has arranged for us to have a Pre-Cruise Welcome Dance Party on Friday, February 23rd from 1pm - 5pm.  She has reserved the beautiful Emma Lou Olsen Pompano Beach Community Center, which boasts a huge hall with a big stage and wooden floor that can hold several hundred dancers.  It will be a great opportunity to meet everyone before the cruise and also dance with the local line dancers in South Florida.  Flyer will be coming out in the next few weeks !

Please don’t forget to visit our Facebook Event Page and click on the word “JOIN”, so you will get periodic updates and also be able to chat with others going.  If you need a cabin mate or know someone that is looking for one, that would be the best place to let people know.  You can also encourage & invite any of your facebook friends to this page and let them know you are going.

If you are looking for someone to share a cabin, we have a lovely lady who has already booked a cabin for 2 and would be happy to hear from you.

Her name is Sheila Johnson:  sheel...@aol.com

If you have any questions at all, please direct them to Alex, Rachael, Cindy, Joseph, Marie or any of the friendly staff at Advantage Cruises.  The phone lines are now open, so please call the Toll Free number: 1.866.824.1613 or you can email them at:  custome...@advantagecruises.net

SUBJECT:  NOTE FROM RACHAEL MCENANEY

Hi everyone,

Just a quick note (as I really need to go to bed ;-)) to let you know that the step sheet for the new dance that I choreographed with Simon Ward a couple of weeks ago has now been released to my website.

"Kissing Strangers" is a 64 count, 2 wall, intermediate line dance with 1 restart.

I added video links to both the sheet and my website but had warning emails from both facebook and youtube :-/ fingers crossed the stay but who knows... they may just stay without the music.

Hope you will take a look, have a great rest of your week.

Much love

--

SUBJECT:  Dance Charts / DJ play lists

FROM:  John “Grrowler” Rowell

Hello dancers and DJ’s in particular, this is something I’ve wanted to do for quite a long time now.

Like the majority of you, I look at the dance charts on a regular basis, but I realise that although they are a good guide, they don’t really reflect what is being danced socially.

The Linedancer Magazine chart and Carol Craven’s Newsletter are based on individual preferences and the “most viewed” charts on Linedancer and Copperknob are exactly that, viewed, not necessarily danced. Although I’m sure they do have some influence on what will be danced socially.

So I’m proposing to create a dance chart based solely on what is played at linedance socials.

So, DJ’s please send me your play lists and I will compile them into a chart.

A couple of ground rules first.

If you are a choreographer holding your own social event, please DO NOT include any dances you have choreographed, as they will not be included in the chart.

Do not include any dances that are taught at your event. Social dances only

So this is what I need to compile the chart.

Your name

Contact details (optional)

The date the event was held

Your location (Country) as hopefully this will go global

The dance title (Preferred format : DanceTitle (Choreographer)

Choreographer name is essential, as there are so many dances with the same name! An alphabetical sort of the dance names would be helpful.

Sent it to me via E-mail, grro...@btinternet.com

Note: if you are using Virtual DJ at your events you may not be aware that it can produce a text file that you can sent to me without you having to compile the list manually. However, you will need to label your tags with meaningful information.

Artist - Name : Title – Dance Title (Choreographer)

e.g  Artist, Rag n’ Bone Man  -  Title, Human After All (Ria Vos)

Using this format, the text file will produce meaningful information.

If you’re not sure where to find it, I can point you in the right direction

I look forward to hearing from you.

John “Grrowler” Rowell

Your dancin’ DJ
