SUBJECT:   CHEAP SEATS POST (from the LDUK Group)

3.8 million views and rising!

‘Somethin in the Water’ by The Cheap Seats, available via iTunes and all digital stores from Monday 9 March 2015

The Beast line dance choreographed by line dancing legend Rob Fowler to The Cheap Seats song ‘Somethin’ In The Water’ caused something of a sensation when a video of the performance taken at the 19th Crystal Boot Awards in Blackpool on 5 February 2015 was posted to The Cheap Seats Ethan Allen’s Facebook page.

In just 13 days the clip has received 3,181,635 views and is growing at around 100,000 a day with shares from hundreds of thousands of line dance fans and US Country Radio Stations 99.1 WQIL Jacksonville and 93.1 The Wolf Greensboro.

The song is from The Cheap Seats 1996 album ‘Call It What You Will’ and has been a staple at line dance events, but has been unavailable since Ethan and songwriter John Pettifer split up in 1999.

The group won CMT International Video Artist of The Year in 1996 and 1997, BCMA Rising Star and Best Group in 1997. The video for ‘Somethin’ In The Water’ was Top 3 in the CMT Video Chart in 1996.

Ethan said ‘I’ve been amazed by the phenomenal response to this and it is great to be back in the public eye after such a long time. It would be great to do a re-union tour to mark 20 years of The Cheap Seats’

John said, “Well this music business never ceases to amaze me, who'd of thought a song I wrote nearly 25 years ago would suddenly become part of an Internet sensation. I guess TimBL was on to something after all....

Rob Fowler commented ‘It truly is an amazing time for line dancing and the legends that are The Cheap Seats and Rob Fowler!’

Subject: FT. WAYNE DANCE FOR ALL
From:
gotta...@rtcol.com

I want to take this opportunity to thank Jamie & Barney Marshall for having me back at this exquisite event.  Let me tell you folks....this event has something for everyone. 7 rooms of

classes going on all day, whether it be swing, partner, line, zumba, clogging, 2-step, fox trot, and they even had a class for learning how to Choreograph a dance, plus NTA information. Jamie & Barney go out of their way to make sure everyone gets what they came for. There were a lot and

very good dances in the Choreography competition and a great turnout for the Team Exhitibion.

If you really enjoyed your stay, please let Jamie & Barney know, or you can put an article in right

here and let EVERYONE know.  I also want to thank all that came to my classes....if you need any help on the step sheets or music, please contact me.  I couldn't have enjoyed a better weekend......... until I headed home...... wrecked my car on the VERY BAD snow covered roads.

Wiped out 4 mailboxes, missed a large tree by l2 inches, and ended up l0 feet from someone's front porch.  When I made it to the door, I asked if they had any hot coffee...LOL...no I didn't. But the good thing is, I was able to drive my crippled car home.  Yes, I had an angel on my shoulder.

My shoulders, back & neck feel like ____ right now but I have a lot to be thankful for. Hope the

rest of you made it home safer than I did......It was good seeing all of you instructors and dancers

again....Be Safe & God Bless....Bev Carpenter  gotta...@rtcol.com

SUBJECT: Take me to Church

I usually just go with the flow and don't get involved but I had to post to this subject. I feel it is invaluable to learn a dance straight from the choreographer.  I am not speaking for all choreographers but being one myself I don't just pick any music and throw something together, the music has to speak to me and therefore when I find a piece of music that I connect with then I begin to have a vision for the dance that I create that will portray what I want to say.  I too could learn dances from videos when I want to but I cannot describe all the extra you get when you learn a dance directly from the choreographer.  Not only are you learning about the music and the dance but also about the choreographer themselves. There are countless pieces of music, countless choreographers and that is what makes this thing we do truly wonderful and our choices unlimited.  There is this thing we do.......WE DANCE. :)

See you on the dance floor..
