WEDNESDAY, JUNE 29 I'm late this morning. I kept having ONE
MORE THING I needed to do and then that led to ONE MORE THING and then the phone
rang and while I was on the phone I thought of ONE MORE THING. LOL.
SUBJECT: TUESDAY CLASS IN PINELLAS PARK,
FLA
FROM: Me
We had a fun class last night. Diane was our DJ last night and
did a great job keeping everyone dancing their favorites. It was nice to
have Sandy Schoenberger there with us again. She is doing great!! I
just love our little class of friends. You should join us sometime.
Bet you can't do just one. LOL.
Sheri did a great job teaching MAKE YOU MOVE by Scott Blevins. Almost
everyone stayed on the floor and everyone did for the first two parts.
There are no steps in this dance that are difficult to do so don't be
intimidated by the number of them. LOL. She taught it in three
sections, which made it much easier to learn.

SHERI did another review of I NEVER KNEW by Simon Ward. I think this
one is finally in my tiny little brain. LOL.

Our Class is a non profit

SUBJECT: Dancin’ with Marilyn, Ocala,
FL
FROM: Marilyn McNeal, BoarsN...@aol.com This past
Saturday at Rachael’s workshop, she released a really cute Beginner dance
called Judge Not to a great song. Check it out for your beginner
classes!
FYI, when the schedule is posted for Fun in the Sun, this
is not the dance I’m teaching along with Just Have Faith by Gary O’Reilly.
In that same hour is Judge Not, but it’s an Easy Intermediate dance by Kate
Sala, Pat Stott and Vickie Morris (Easy Intermediate). Two different
dances, same name, same song. Both have been blocked on YouTube.
Rachael’s dance to this music will make a perfect floor split at
our socials. I’m teaching both in my classes! My second class is High on Loving
You (H.O.L.Y) by Will Craig, with his kind permission of
course!
Off to Moffitt today, then on to visit friends in North
Carolina with grandson Collin. Then home just in time for Sandy Albano’s
birthday and retirement party, followed by FITS with grandson Connor! Then
Barnanza in August!
We will definitely see you on a dance floor
soon!

SUBJECT: ATLANTA DANCE WEEKLY
28 June 2016 Edition

SUBJECT: CELEBRATE DANCE IN TORONTO
Hi everyone:
A terrific time was had by all this past weekend
at Celebrate Dance! here in Toronto. It was the largest turnout so far for
the event and there was lots of excitement in the air. A quick shuttle
ride from the airport, the event was held in a comfortable, modern hotel, with
rooms recently renovated. The ballrooms were only a short distance from
the elevators which I know many dancers found a plus. Lots of restaurants
close by. So....a good start!!
The event started with a dance
on the Thursday evening and went through until Sunday afternoon. There
were three dance rooms to choose from all weekend including a beginner room
which was well used, all the instructors taught a class there. The
instructors were terrific. From far afield we had Fred Whitehouse (from
Ireland and first time in Canada) who received a standing ovation for his
‘homeless’ performance at the Saturday Show. Jose Miguel Belloque Vane
flew in from The Netherlands for his second visit to Toronto and also impressed
with his flowing Waltz performance in the show, check the video when I get to
post it! Apart from being incredibly talented choreographers,
dancers and instructors, they were such personable young men, always with ready
smiles and time to chat.
From the US we had John Robinson
who I would now count as an honorary Canadian!! It is always a pleasure to
have John here in Toronto. Lorenzo Evans was new on the CD! list and
dancers enjoyed his funky moves and appealing personality. Having
Guyton Mundy here for his final appearance at a Canadian event was bittersweet
and after his performance at the Show there were many dancers in tears. We
will miss you Guyton but wish you much happiness in the future in whatever you
choose to do. To many of the dancers Tina Foster was a new face and
with her outgoing personality she did a terrific job of instruction.
Popular DJ Jill Babinec brought her own unique style to the DJ booth, teaching
stage and dance floor, those of you who were there will know what I
mean!!!! I should add here thanks to Eve Yeaton from Chicago
who MC’d the previews and the show.
From Canada, Gerard Murphy
travelled to Toronto along with a head to toe black outfit with a flowing purple
cape to add some flare. I have a feeling it is a good idea he didn’t wear
it on the flight!! Fred Buckley DJ’d the morning easy open dance
sessions which are very popular and taught in the beginner room with patience
and humour. As well as all her other duties as Event Director along with
Tina Veliotis, Judy took time to teach classes and give a session on teaching
beginners. I also had fun teaching and thanks so very much to all the
dancers who packed the floor for my classes, much appreciated.
You will find lots of photos on both the Celebrate Dance! facebook
page and website so do check them out.

for next year are June 22-25. Hope to see many of you
there.
Happy dancin’!
