Question for Newsletter

From:

lyndali...@gmail.com

We were driving to Rachael's workshop Saturday morning and the question of "What does it mean when a dance is labeled 'Novice' as the level?"    The three of us had different understanding of what that means.   We were wondering if there is a definite definition we should all be following and if other dancers/instructors were wondering the same thing.   It does come into play when trying to select dances to teach in classes of various levels.  Where do these dances belong?

What do you have to say dancers, instructors, and especially choreographers?

NOTE FROM ME:  Please respond for posting in the newsletter and/or I will ask Lynda to forward me responses that you don't mind being posted.

SUBJ:  GREAT WORKSHOP  IN GARDENDALE, AL - 6/17/17

FROM:  Jamie Marshall (thejamie...@twc.com) (thejamiemarshall.com) (ftwaynedanceforall.com)

Thank you Jackie Tally and Kim for another outstanding day of dancing with over 100 dancers! It's always a pleasure to work with Mr. Showcase, John Robinson. Helen Woods warmed us up with some fun and easy dances and Barbara Traywick led lunch time dancing to a full floor of dancers. Harry Woods and Butch Slaughter were Masters of Music all day! It’s always such a pleasure seeing old friends and making new ones!!!

Special thanks to Rachel Lipskey who entertained us with her smile and beautiful, strong voice on Friday night. Everyone enjoyed my teach and dancing Rachel’s new release “Dancin’ In The Neon”.

The Saturday lunch time“Tush Push Contest” was exciting and fun. Twenty dancers took the floor! The top 10 finalists won a prize. Congratulations to JoAnn Tombrello who was our top dancer!

Lots of vendors were on hand for dancers' shopping pleasure.  Super J Mart, Jamie's Tees & More, Tupperware, Lois' Blingy Things, Steele City Pops, Magnetability Jewelry (I think)...

I was certainly beat after teaching every hour, but loved every minute. My teaches included: 5 in 50: Everybody Dance Now (Conrad Farnham), Ain’t Just a Southern Thing (Micaela Svensson Erlandsson), Ring on Every Finger (Jamie Marshall), All I Can Say (Patrick Fleming), I Got A Woman (Will Craig). Also taught Change My Ways (José Miguel Belloque Vane & Roy Verdonk), Look Good Again (Darren Bailey), Helium (Will Craig), Sweet Dynamite (Jose Miguel Belloque Vane, Nuria Castan Mur, & David Hoyn), For Her (Jamie Marshall), That Love (Will Craig), and Grab Your Skates (Jonno Liberman).

Looking forward to seeing everyone again soon! Thanks for attending my classes and for always supporting me! Blessed and Loved!
