WORLD LINE DANCE
NEWSLETTER

NOTE FROM ME:  If you won, placed, or entered a dance in the USLDCC Competition at Hotlanta and would like me to post your videos with sheets in the newsletter and on the WLDN Group on Facebook, please send them to me in this format:

Name of Dance, Choreographer, Winning qualifying place

Link to the dance with sheet

Send to me at tka...@aol.com

If you didn't qualify but entered, I will also post those.  There have been quite a few dances that maybe didn't qualify but went on to do very well but if people don't have a sheet WITH A VIDEO, I'm afraid they don't get looked at.  My advice for the next time you enter is to have the sheet and video ready to go the day you enter so it can be posted.  You have about a two-minute time frame to get your dances noticed and you might as well take advantage of it.

Congratulations to the winners and congratulations to everyone who enters for just DOING IT!  I know it's a lot of work but what a great opportunity and what a great learning curve for aspiring choreographers.  There were some really good dances so I hope I get to share them with everyone.

SUBJECT:  DANSE-FLOOR MAGAZINE (French Magazine)

NOTE FROM ME:  I'm reposting this because the photo didn't show up yesterday.

I wanted to let my French-speaking friends know about a WONDERFUL magazine that was shared with me.  It's called DANSE-FLOUR and if you read French, you can find out all about it by writing Laurent Saletto for subscription information.  The editor/owner of the magazine is Gerard Simoncello and he does a wonderful job.  There is an article I wrote about THE EXPERIENCE IN NEW ORLEANS featured in this issue.  Here is Laurent's email for any questions or to find out how to get in touch with Gerard.  Here are some photos of what the magazine is like. It is a beautiful glossy publication and I know you will love subscribing to the magazine! Thanks so much for sharing, Gerard.  It was such a nice surprise.

SUBJECT:   SUGGESTION TO ADD FOR CLASS INFORMATION

First, thanks for all your service !  I was wondering if you think it might be good to ask people to specifically mention in their listing of classes, events and in the news items they send you any particular types of line dancing they do -- for instance, "includes some Zydeco line dances" or "includes soul line dancing".  B/c I only do soul line dance classes (I've learned that better to concentrate on something than spread myself too thin and not learn anything very well), I open the newsletter and usually just do "find" and then "soul".

Just a thought !!!!!  If that wouldn't work/be appropriate/, etc., you don't have to explain why.  Seriously -- it's just a thought.

Again, thank you for ALL YOUR SERVICE.

Helen

Helen.L....@gmail.com

NOTE FROM ME:  If you do any specific types of dances in your classes, this is a good suggestion.  When you post events, you can choose the type of dances to be done but it would be good to add them in your posts.  Thanks for the suggestion, Helen.
