missing author drop down for posts in wordpress 3.2

I am using Wordpress 3.2 to build a site and have noticed that the
author drop down is no longer showing up in the posts area of the
admin. I've googled it and can't seem to find anyone else with the
problem. I have a clean install with Twenty Twelve but no author drop
down...? Any ideas?

Steph,

Have you looked to see if it's simply not showing? If you click on Screen Options at the top, right of the page, a slide-down will appear & by default, Author is set to not show.
