Image saves at Text Doc, not PNG

Hi folks - 

I've been using Wordle for years, and this appears to be a new problem.

When I save my image as a PNG, all seems to go well, but it actually seems to be saved as a Text Edit document, which I then have to convert to an image file for my purposes.

Anyone else encountering this?

Hmm. If you have the option to type in a file extension when saving, add .png and see it that helps.
