In this group there were a number of serious discussions about
nominations for speakers at the ICM and other high level mathematics
awards. The ICM is coming up next summer and the deadlines for most
nominations have passed. However there is one award left with a
nomination deadline of this coming December:

It may also be possible to recommend speakers including people over 40
who are not in the running for the Fields Medals.

One thing that came up in a prior discussion was how it might help to
encourage a senior well established mathematician to nominate a top
notch woman mathematician rather than just nominating her yourself. A
mathematician who has a Fields medal or has spoken at the ICM in the
past would have serious weight.

If you have a good rapport with a senior mathematicians who are not
directly in your field you might bring up the subject of whether they
feel there is a particularly strong woman in their field worthy of
speaking at the ICM and mention that she might need to be nominated as
a speaker especially if she is not in the running for a Fields Medal
and has not already been nominated as a potential medalist.
